  45.     What we are effectivly talking about are the Lightwave list and
  46. the Toaster list. Lightwave now exists as a seperate entity from the
  47. Toaster (altough it doesn't have to), and in the future will be available on
  48. other platforms. The Toaster/Flyer however, remains solely an Amiga product.
  49. No announcement has been made of any near future porting either.
  50.     Therefore, IMO it makes sense to leave the Toaster/Flyer list/newsgroup
  51. seperate from Lightwave. It's bad enough for those of us who had only used the
  52. Toaster for LW and where only interested in it. Now imagine how stand-alone
  53. owners feel wading through Toaster (not LW) related messages. I can't wait till
  54. it's on the PC & SGI, it'll probably look like the Imagine list did for awhile-
  55. continualy platform flaming.
  56.     My suggestion is for Lightwave discussion to move to a newsgroup called
  57. comp.sys-soft.lightwave. Why? There's already a precident set with
  58. comp.sys-soft.wavefront, for the Wavefront suite of 3D tools (which doesn't
  59. get 1/4 the traffic this list does!). Toaster/Flyer discussion can take place
  60. either in a mailing list, regular Amiga newsgroups, or perhaps a newsgroup like
  61. comp.sys.amiga.video.
